Front Steps Project

We may be separated temporarily, but we're in this together!

I cannot say thank you enough to all the families that participated in this project! You each brought smiles to my faces and have helped so many people through your generous donations. I am wrapping up the Front Steps Project and will no longer be taking new sessions, but will still be coming around to those that I have not reached yet. This has been an amazing experience for me and I hope it has been for you as well!

I love documenting important memories in the lives of families. As a photographer, it's what I do! I also love spreading joy and during this strange time we find ourselves in, it's a way I can do that and also give back. Inspired by the work of Boston photographer, Cara Soulia, who founded the Front Steps Project, I am offering to take "Front Steps Portraits" of Houston residents.

Here's how it works:

  • Fill out the form below to sign up. I'll contact you and schedule a five minute session.
  • You just step outside, I'll be standing by the street, at least six feet away. Want to stand outside in your PJ's and slippers? No Problem! Kids in mismatched clothes, but you're just glad they dressed themselves? I feel you! Formal wear? Want to be creative? Silly? Perfect! Just be you!
  • I'll take a couple quick shots and leave. I physically interact with no one and touch nothing during these sessions. I *do* smile and laugh with you and don't we all need that right now?
  • After your session, I will email you the edited digital file of your portrait. In exchange, I'm asking you to make a good faith donation to Gracewood, Kids' Meals Houston or the Houston Food Bank.
  • I'll be posting the images to my Instagram and Facebook accounts using the hashtags #FrontStepsProject and #FrontStepsProjectHouston.
