1. Why choose an in-home newborn sessions? 🌟🏠
In home sessions tend to be more lifestyle/documentary in nature. That means we're telling a story in the familiarity of your own space, and the through genuine moments that define your family's love. These newborn sessions include the whole family and are all about capturing your unique story right where it blossoms – within the walls of your home.
2. When's the perfect time for our session? 📆👨👩👧👦
You may have heard that you need to schedule your newborn session within the first 7-10 days after baby arrives, I'm here to tell you that's straight bologna! I photograph newborns any time from birth to 12 weeks. It all depends on how mom and baby are feeling after birth, how quickly (or not) the family has acclimated to welcoming a new human into the group and when you feel comfortable. Many of my mom's like to wait until they feel a little more themselves, and others want to get them done right away. Choose the moment that feels like the sweetest chapter in your family's story.
3. How can we prepare our home for this heartwarming session? 🧹
No need for stress! Your home is a canvas of love, and a bit of mess only adds to its charm. That being said, a lot of mess isn't a good look. My photo prep checklist includes: clear up counters, tables and floors in the spaces where you want to capture those special moments, make beds, open window coverings and turn off lights. We'll spend most of our time in the nursery, primary room and family room so focus your energy there and let then natural light weave its magic.
4. What should we wear? 👗👕
Comfort is key. Dress in outfits that reflect your style and make you feel cozy and connected. Soft colors and textures are lovely, but the most important thing is that you feel like yourselves.
5. What if our little love isn't in the mood? 😴🍼
I let your children run the show for these sessions. If a feeding, a diaper change, or simply a gentle cuddle is needed, we'll flow with it. Those unplanned moments are often the sweetest and most heartwarming.
6. Can our older siblings and pets be part of this love-filled session? 🐶👧👦
Absolutely! In fact, I encourage it. Your family is full of love, and every member deserves to be part of the frame. Get ready for heart-melting sibling embraces and adorable furry friend cameos.
7. How long does this heartwarming session typically last? ⏰📸
On average, about 1 to 2 hours, but you won't be watching the clock. I have a bunch of posing suggestions, prompts and games to keep everyone interested and engaged.
8. What happens after this love-filled session? 🌈💻
Post-session, I will cull, edit and curate a gallery filled with the sweetest moments from our time together. I usually have sneak peeks of your session available within the first week after your session and the full gallery delivered in 3 weeks. You'll have the chance to view, download, print and share these treasures – turning them into tangible memories to hold close to your heart.
